    It's not open source. It's device developers who have no idea about security. Frankly, this affects closed source software as well. Essentially, you have an appliance mfg. They have no idea how to code for secure apps. I've been hacking networks for almost 40 years, testing carrier and enterprise grade equipment. It's not uncommon for folks to get security right in fact it's very common. Any software closed or open can be made secure. It's just that it requires a certain skill set most devs don't have.

    Sonotype published reports that most of the Open Source projects are infiltrated by hackers and Nation State actors that are injecting vulnerabilities into the code base. People falsely claim that Open Source is more secure because multiple people review the code, when in reality only hackers, Nation State actors and college academia are reviewing it. Everyone else just assumes others are doing it and just use the code. The main problem with OS is that people actually see the code. They are not trying to disassemble object modules, which could have been compiled using custom compilers to prevent easy disassembly. Whenever you see OS is being used, one should automatically assume it's not secure and to use at your own risk.

    How are you attaching the sill to the wall or wall framing?

  • @mlthornton1
    @mlthornton1 5 дней назад

    Dumb question here. Say you're framing an 8 foot section. Then your studs will be at 16, 32, 48, 64, 80 and 96 OC. Since that last stud is at 96 OC if you put it on center it would extend 3/4" past the top and bottom plates. In that case do you shift the stud back 3/4" so that it stays flush within the top and bottom plates?
